Biography

 Botanical

and Wild Life Artist

Linda Latham

I am a Northern Lass, and have been drawing and painting since I was a teenager.
I moved from Lancashire in my early twenties travelling North to the beautiful Lake District. The scenery and wild life is inspiring and a perfect place for any artist to  practise their craft.
I moved even further North in 2003 to live an even more rural life in Scotland allowing me the time to develop my own style as an artist, particularly focusing on wild life, floral art and contemporary botanical art. So what is my own style? What I try to do is capture moments in time in nature. An expression, a situation, a back story for the viewer to interpret.
I am also slightly obsessed with detail, hence the slight shift to Botanical Art recently.
My botanical work I would call contemporary as I am not a fan of the scientific approach albeit masterly. Through learning the skill and techniques involved in botanical art, I believe my work has leapt forward and as a result given my paintings more realism. I am still learning....
During this long productive learning curve I am now satisfied to present my work after successful exhibitions.
I am happy to consider commissions for Dog portraits.
All previous customers have had waggy tails - and their pets were delighted too.

Please do not hesitate to contact me for further information, prices and sizes of completed work for sale, as shown on this website.
